Humanist and Celebrant led weddings
Many people are choosing alternative places to get married. These sites often do not have the licences for legal weddings so couples are choosing to get legally married at a registrars office a few days before and then choosing to have a wedding at an alternatve venue. This means your celebrant can make your wedding more personal to you in your chosen setting!
Hand Fasting Ceremonies
Hand Fasting is a Celtic tradition that dates back over 2000 years. The ritual of wrapping the hands with ribbon symbolises the binding of the two lives. The original reason for Hand Fasting was to see if the couple could last being married. If they still loved each other after the year they would go on to be married or split if they couldn’t. Today it is joyful way of showing unity and becoming one.
Broom Ceremony's
The Broom Ceremony or Jumping the broom is a marriage ritual which symbolises a couple stepping into their new lives together. This originated from Black and African-American weddings. Again as with Hand Fasting this can be incorporated into any wedding ceremony.
